Charging
Cycle Applications: Limit
initial current to 26.25A. Charge until battery voltage (under charge)
reaches 14.50 to 14.90 volts at 68º F (20º C). Hold at 14.50 to 14.90
volts until current drops to approximately 750mA. Battery is fully charged
under these conditions, and charger should either be disconnected or
switched to "float" voltage.
"Float" or "Stand-by Service":
Hold battery across constant voltage source of 13.60 to 13.80 volts
continuously. When held at this voltage, the battery will seek its own
current level and maintain itself in a fully charged condition.

Gel battery's electrolyte is suspended
in a silica-based gel, which produces a thick pasty material. The
state-of-the-art lead-acid battery is the valve-regulated type
(sometimes called "sealed" or maintenance-free), which fixes the
acid electrolyte in a gel or in an absorptive fiberglass mat. The
advantage of this design is that the battery needs no water
additions, can be operated in any position, and can be used in close
proximity to people and sensitive equipment. Additional benefits:
maintenance-free, sealed no-leak design, higher cranking amps, lower
self-discharge, greater vibration resistance, heavy duty,
no-corrosion terminals. |
